Knead is a scratch bakery and bistro nestled in the heart of Scituate Harbor, MA. Growing up in the English countryside, owner Victoria Donnelly had the only sweet tooth in her family. Her mum cooked every type of cuisine - exploring Indian, French, Spanish and English dishes regularly, but it wasn't until Victoria was living in Boston studying Journalism, that she started experimenting herself with the food that truly had her heart - cakes and pastry.
In 2009, Victoria started thinking about opening a cupcake truck, but at that time it was unheard of in Boston and she couldn't get approved by the city. On a whim, she applied to go on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars - and won. Four further appearances on the Food Network, and numerous other competitions later, she won Best Cupcake at the New England Dessert Showcase, and was named “a Millennial to watch” by the Boston Globe. She opened her first cupcake store in 2010, and her second in 2012.
After moving to the South Shore to concentrate on raising her daughters, Victoria started dreaming about opening a bakery and bistro that focused deeply on the community it served. Balancing buttery treats with fresh salads and smoothie bowls, Knead celebrates food as a joyful way to connect, celebrate and learn in a beautiful contemporary space.
